We love HeartBeats Music & Dance! The teachers are
kind, warm, talented and award-recognized!
This is our second year attending classes yet it seems like
just yesterday that our daughter came home after her first
class doing plie’s at bedtime under her quilt while she told
me how “very” much she loved her teacher, Ms. Windy!
Since then our daughter has attended a 5-day Fancy
Nancy summer camp and had so much fun that we
decided to sign her up for this year’s winter camp and
today, look forward to more camps in the future. Last
summer, she came home each day having learned a new
French word and ballet technique. I, for one, cherished
the time we spent chatting about her memories from
the day’s activities. And, on the last day, families were
treated to a precious presentation by the children!
We loved the recital too! I love that it not only
showcased the techniques and forms the children learned,
but that it also left a memorable and meaningful mark
on their hearts. The story illustrated how we are all
disabled in some way or another and that even though
some disabilities are more serious and visible, that each
and every one of us has been given gifts that outweigh
our disabilities. Our family still talks about the exciting
ending when a character from the show emerged to dazzle
everyone with a dizzying and inspiring breakdancing
routine despite having an artificial leg. Just a few days
ago, our daughter asked to watch the recording of the
performances yet again!
All in all, HeartBeats is aptly named! Not only is the
dance education solid, but the life lessons are lasting.

The Best Camp Ever!!

Since moving to the area last summer we have loved our time with Ms. Windy in the preschool ballet class! Having experienced a lovely dance program in a different state, we could never have imagined just how special Ms. Windy makes these dance experiences for our little ballerinas! To see eight to ten otherwise active, spunky little ones give their complete and utter attention to Ms. Windy for 45 minutes to an hour each week is one thing. To see the joy in their faces as they become ballerinas, animals in the jungle, and whatever else Ms. Windy's imagination conjurs up is even better. We lovingly refer to it as the Ms. Windy Magic!

I would like to thank you so very much for the wonderful program that you coordinated for my son's school. I am looking forward to seeing it on the website. Strider had a great time and I truly appreciate it. I am interested in enrolling him in music lessons. Is there an age requirement? He is three years old and loves music, especially the drums.

My two children have grown so much musically at HeartBeats. My daughters have been taking 3 years of piano and 2 years of violin. The teachers and staff have been fantastic and flexible. It is such a pleasure to listen to the children practice every day.

My family and I love HeartBeats! First impressions count and when we dropped in to make inquiries and were greeted with warmth and friendliness and treated to a tour by owner Rockley Miller who took time to answer our questions...well, we were sold! What an amazing variety they offer from dance to vocal and instrumental lessons! However, it is the excellent instructors that have kept us coming back even though we must drive an hour each way to attend! My daughter Tatiana who enjoys acting and theater was thrilled to find tap and jazz classes that cater to this interest. I even joined an adult tap class and am having a blast finding that "old dogs can learn new tricks!" The instructor and fellow classmates are so encouraging! We are all having fun and benefiting from great exercise too! Above all I am most impressed with the genuine interest and care demonstrated by the HeartBeats faculty and staff toward their students. Thanks for being there, HeartBeats...I'm glad we found you online even from Germany!

I just want to leave a note to say how much my daughters liked Katie Packa as their piano teacher the past few weeks. She was patient and communicated very well with my young (4 & 6) girls. We can't wait 'til she joins the staff full time!

We had tried Parktakes for a year but my son wasn't learning much new week to week. However, after just his first class here at HeartBeats, he learned so much more. In jazz, tap, and ballet the HeartBeats teachers taught him more in one class than he learned in a whole year at the Rec Centers. I'm so happy here.

My daughter participated in the full day dance camp this summer. She absolutely loved every day of the camp and spoke very highly of her dance instructors as well as the general atmosphere of the studio. The staff is very friendly and always willing to take the time to talk with clients. Certainly this is a breath of fresh air!

I am writing this note to express my deep satisfaction and fondness for HeartBeats! My daughter takes a combo dance class and my son takes an electric guitar course. The teachers and staff are phenomenal. They are all so personable, learned and enthusiastic about all facets of the arts! Rockley Miller is a warm and vivacious director who cares deeply about his students and families. I recommend this fantastic facility to all who are interested in a wonderful music/dance/theatre experience!

With much regret, we had to cancel our lessons with Miss Jackie. She is a wonderful teacher who taught my nine-year-old son. He gained quite a lot from his weekly lessons. The staff was always flexible with us -- we really appreciated that. Without reservation, I would highly recommend music lessons at HeartBeats Music & Dance!

My 17-year-old son has been taking guitar lessons with KC for "a while." KC has taken him from beginning acoustic to electric. In Jonathan's words, KC had a band which made him "totally awesome" and he's "the coolest teacher"!

I booked my daughter's 6-year birthday party at HeartBeats this past Saturday and I highly recommend it to anyone. We had ten kids (7 girls, 3 boys) and they had a BLAST !! The two young women who led the group even helped to keep the kids focused and in line during cake, ice cream/and present opening. Thanks, HeartBeats we have fabulous memories and pictures of a great dance party (and I didn't need to clean my house!!).

I love taking dance at HeartBeats . It is really good and I meet a lot of friends and I learn new dances and I learn new stuff. I love having Miss Linda for a dance teacher and I love having Miss Hedy and Miss Ellen as my dance teachers. I have learned so much in dance this year. Love,

My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Tracy for two and a half years now and it has been wonderful! She has made tremendous progress in her lessons. She also started taking a hip hop class this fall and she absolutely loves it! It is always a pleasure to come to the studio due to the wonderful staff here. Thank you HeartBeats .

My daughter is taking both piano and dance classes and we are thrilled with her progress!! The teachers are wonderful. They are both loving and professional in their approach. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HeartBeats . Everyone from the front desk, to the owners put the Heart in HeartBeats.

We came to HeartBeats from Expressive Dance and Arts. Although I was skeptical of the automatic payment plan, it worked perfectly! It was a great relief to not have to worry about submitting checks by a certain date each month. The studio is run very professionally and it has been a pleasure to have our daughter dance here. We love Miss Ellen as a teacher she's the best.

HeartBeats has been a true answer to prayer for us as we moved to the D.C. area and attempted to make another home. The studio and staff so warmly welcomed us, making it a very easy transition into the classes here. WOW! In a word, HeartBeats is great. My daughter, Ayanna, has been enrolled for over a year and has taken three classes. She's learned so much in a relatively short period of time. Now we have the privilege of experience and expertise with Linda Bascope. We plan to continue with her guidance and direction for Ayanna. And two thumbs up, Mr. Miller! People generally don't see or tend to overlook the business aspect of a studio. Thank you so much for what you do.

I loved the recital. The costumes were great and the numbers flowed very well. During the year my daughter's teacher was firm but kind and gave her a great opportunity to rise to her highest level.

Variety is the spice of life! All of the choices in one establishment is quite an advantage. My daughter enjoyed the jazz class and we are looking into future classes in piano and maybe hip hop. The staff at HeartBeats has done a good job.

We looked into this program a few months before we actually enrolled. My daughter (then 4, now 5) would point to the building with pride and tell anybody, That's my dance studio. I had no choice but to sign her up!! Miss Linda does a fabulous job of teaching the mechanics and nurturing the kids while keeping them in line in a pleasant way. We're very happy here.

George Sheppard is a tremendous asset to your curriculum at HeartBeats . My son has been taught by George for the past 3 years. George really understands how to maximize the talents of his students by understanding their strengths and weaknesses and finding a program that is appropriate for them. We are fortunate to have George as a percussion instructor.
